Background:

I live in Turanga and work as a Pouwhakahaere.  I am Deputy Chairperson of Te Runanga O Ngati Porou, I am Chairperson of Radio Ngati Porou, Chairperson of Pakihiroa Farms Ltd, and Chairman of Hiruharama Marae and Whareponga Marae.  My interests are my family, Hikurangi Pariha, Kapahaka, marae activities, Hikurangi Rugby Club, Ngati Porou East Coast rugby and everything Nati!

Aspirations for Ngati Porou:

To see things that our parents and grandparents aspired to for us coming to fruition; and they include strong whanau/hapu, that inevitably leads to a strong Iwi.  I aspire to see Ngati Porou become the vibrant world and economy it once was, where Ngati Porou was our first language; where we took care to look after one another; and where we actively contributed to the Ngati Porou, regional, national & global economy.  Ultimately though it is this, “te pupri i te mauri o te wa kainga”.
